The device automatically measures the display characteristic of CRT with curvature by controlling a lens of CCD camera to be vertically contacted to the screen of a CRT. It is composed of a circular contact sensor (2), an interface section (3) for interfacing the vertical face detecting signal with a computer (4), a computer (4) for controlling a X-Y-Z stage controller (5), and a X-Y-Z stage controller section (6) for moving the contacts (Xm,Xp,Xm,Yp) according to the control signal from the X-Y-Z controller section (6).
