<p>PURPOSE:To infer a symptom, where elapse of time should be taken into consideration, with a high precision in a failure diagnosing device. CONSTITUTION:An operator in charge of maintenance or a user inputs user's inquiry about failure and the operation method to an input device 22 by another picture. A backup memory 16 consists of failure diagnostic information memories 40 and 42 where failure diagnostic information required for failure diagnosis such as causes of failure and countermeasures are stored correspondingly to failure symptoms. Based on the inquiry inputted from the input device 22, an inference program in a ROM 14 performs inference in consideration of elapse of time if elapse of time should be taken into consideration, but it performs inference without taking elapse of time into consideration if it is unnecessary to take elapse of time into consideration. The retrieval result is outputted to a display device 32.</p> |
