Continuously moving glass sheet, that has been scored transversely, is cracked by curving the glass by rollers 5, 6, 7 acting on part only of the width of the sheet. More than one such set of rollers may be used. The crack extends the full width of the sheet. The bending force on the sheet is arranged to have a symmetrical form and to be at a maximum above roller 5. Adjustment for this latter purpose is offset bearing pins 22 supporting the roller assembly. A conveyer 4 receives the broken sheets.</p> |
