PURPOSE:To tell the time of completion of reproducing a program any time from wherever position of its tape is required. CONSTITUTION:The subject device is equipped with a data recording means 4 for periodically recording the tape with a data by which the residual time for video recording of a program can be found by inputting the present time and the completion time of this program under video recording with a timer means at the time of recording the video set for its video recording completion time, a data reproducing means 7 for reading the data recorded on the tape at the time of reproducing and a program completion time calculating means 8 for calculating the time of completion of reproducing this program from the data read out by the data reproducing means 7 and the present time from the timer means 1.
