<p>PURPOSE: To provide a method for reducing the sulfur emission from a cellulose sulfate plant. CONSTITUTION: This method for controlling sulfidity of a white liquid is provided by heating a black liquid at a higher temperature than the cooking temperature of a sulfide cooking before its final evaporation step, maintaining the heated black liquid for a prescribed time and then generating a gas containing sulfur by flash-evaporating the black liquid for removing the gas containing sulfur. Preferably, the gas containing sulfur is divided into two different fractions and combusted separately.</p> |
