Device making it possible to convert, by aerobic fermentation, liquid pig manure, absorbed by paper and sawdust, into a compost which is rich in trace elements and free of microorganisms. It comprises a tank (5) in which a stirrer (6) mixes paper (P), sawdust (S) and liquid manure (L). A chopper (cutter) pump (7) pumps and chops the mixture, then sends it to a screen (grid) (15). The latter separates the solid part from the liquid part (A). The latter is ejected into the tank (5). The solid part is picked up in order to produce the windrow (20). This is aerated by forced ventilation by means of a drain (21) and of a fan, and covered by a layer of peat.
