PURPOSE:To obtain a capacitor having a small internal resistance to the same shape by forming the capacitor in such a structure that a sheet constituted of a porous separator and a pair of active carbon electrode layers which are separated by the porous separator may be folded up zigzag. CONSTITUTION:This capacitor has such a structure that a sheet constituted of a porous separator 2 and a pair of active carbon electrode layers 1 which are separated by the porous separator 2 may be folded up zigzag. For example, a pair of the cloth-like active carbon electrodes 1 with the porous polypropylene separator 2 put between are folded up zigzag fivefold. After that, a square insulating butyl rubber gasket 4 is put on a conductive separator 3a of butyl rubber and the active carbon electrodes 1 and an electrolyte which is made of 40wt.% sulfuric acid are put in the cavity formed by the conductive separator 3a and the gasket 4 and then a conductive separator 3b of butyl rubber is put on as a cover, to form an element 5. A takeoff electrode 7 is installed on and under a laminated body which is made by laminating the elements 5, to make a finish product. |
