PURPOSE:To improve dynamic color-developing sensitivity, and to enhance dot reproducibility by forming an intermediate layer mainly comprising fine hollow particles, which are composed of a thermoplastic resin and in which mean particle size and a hollow rate are specified, between a supporter and a thermal recording layer. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate layer mainly comprising fine hollow particles, which consist of a thermoplastic resin and have mean particle size of 2-10mum and a hollow rate of 90% or more, functions as a heat-insulating layer, and color-developing sensitivity is improved by the efficient activation of heat energy from a thermal head, etc. A thermal recording material having the intermediate layer abounds in elasticity, and is superior in dot reproducibility. When an in-organic or/and organic pigment having oil absorption of 30ml/100g or more is contained in the intermediate layer together with fine hollow particles, the intermediate layer functions as the heat- insulating layer, and has an effect, in which not only color-developing sensitivity is enhanced but also a heat-sensitive color-developing component under a heated and molten state is absorbed, and the fixing of the heat-sensitive color-developing component to a heating recording equipment such as a thermal head is prevented, thus manufacturing the thermal recording material having excellent matching properties. |
