Electric cooking oven for domestic use, comprising an external enclosure surrounding a muffle, on the inside of which the cooking of the food is carried out, and, above the metal sheet (18) forming the ceiling of the muffle, a box (8), preferably flattened, for collecting the fumes and vapours produced in the muffle, this box being connected to the outlet (12) of an extraction fan accommodated in the enclosure above the muffle and comprising orifices for discharge (14) of these fumes and vapours delivered by the air flow of the fan after suction through a connection duct (7) which ends on the one hand at a communication passage (23) formed in the ceiling of the muffle. According to the invention, this oven is characterised in that the connection duct opens on the other hand directly into the box, opposite the communication passage, in a zone (25) of the latter having a reduction in height in relation to those (26, 27) which it comprises upstream and downstream of the duct in the direction of the flow caused by the delivery of the fan.
