<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate a useless recording part and to simplify an editorially recording operation in a helical scan system VTR by stopping a recording mode when an input signal to be recorded at the time of recording is not inputted within a prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:Under editorial recording, a discriminating operation as to whether a synchronizing pulse of an input video signal is present or not is always performed by a discriminating circuit 4, and as a result, when the video signal is present, a recording circuit 6 is instructed by a control circuit 5 to continue the recording mode. On the other hand, when the video signal is not present in a prescribed time (e.g. 10min), that part is decided as the last of recording, and a discriminating signal B is inputted to the circuit 5 to make a standby mode of the circuit 6, etc., and the recording of a recording VTR 2 of this invention is stopped. By this method, the end part of a reproducing tape is certainly detected, and at the same time, the recording operation of an editorial recording VTR can automatically be stopped.</p> |
