<p>PURPOSE:To limit the propagating range of a fault generated at a subscriber line multiplexer as much as possible concerning the fault reporting system of the subscriber line multiplexer to multiplex plural subscriber lines and to house them in an exchange. CONSTITUTION:At both terminal equipment 1a and 2a terminating a PCM line, a fault report transmitting means 100 is provided to execute a fault processing corresponding to a relevant channel when it is detected that a fault is generated at each channel of the PCM line and to transmit a fault report signal through individual signal paths provided at the respective channels to the respective counter terminal equipments so as to show the generation of the fault at the relevant channel, and a fault report receiving means 200 is provided to receive the fault report signal transmitted from the counter terminal equipment through the individual signal path at each channel of the PCM line and to execute the prescribed fault processing corresponding to the channel where the fault report signal arrives at.</p> |
