The high-speed continuous sieve belt (2), to extract water from a fibre suspension and give a thickened pulp, passes round one cylinder (1) with grooves and a second cylinder (3) which is hollow with a perforated mantle. ADVANTAGE - The appts. gives a compressed fibre pulp, with most of the water extracted from it, with clean separation from the sieve belt cylinders in a simple and cost-effective operation.
