PURPOSE:To enable investigation of an exact damage cause and an optimum maintenance operation to be performed by a method wherein history information concerning the damage and the maintenance is reserved in a printer. CONSTITUTION:When maintenance history information is written in an alarm and maintenance history information memory 6, a maintenance person operates a write data switch 7 to input a maintenance execution date and a maintenance code, which are sent to an alarm and maintenance history information memory control circuit 5. The memory control circuit 5 writes them in an information memory 6. When a content of the information memory 6 is read to be sent to an upper device 1, the maintenance person sends a maintenance information read command 12 to a memory controller 5 from an operation rate of the upper device 1. The memory controller 5 reads the content of the information memory 6 by this command and sends it to a maintenance history information sending circuit 8. The information sending circuit 8 sends it as a maintenance information read data 13 to the upper device 1. |
