Road-speed sensitive vehicular headlamp adjustment appts. - is based on servo-mechanism responsive to rear-wheel loading, only when vehicle is not in motion
摘要
The headlamp (10) is raised and lowered by a servomotor (12) deriving its control signal (32) from a memory (14) storing the outputs from a potentiometer (18) measuring the distance between the chassis and rear axle (20), and from a tachometer (24) indicating rotational speed of a front wheel (22). The memory (14) is addressed from a clock (16) and incorporates a logic unit activated only when the ignition is switched-on and the front wheel (22) is stationary. ADVANTAGE - Correct headlamp setting irrespective of load is guaranteed by mechanism operative only at standstill in interests of minimum wear.
