The propeller's blades are mounted on swivel supports on the hub, with a hydraulic piston (19) inside the hub altering the pitch against a return spring (8), which sets the pitch into a nominal setting when the hydraulic pressure is removed. The pitch control is via a twist control (2) in the cockpit, which drives a spindle (1) to operate the master piston (3). A parallel piston (14) is operated by a pull control (15) which can be locked and which sets the pitch into the feathering, gliding setting. The hub has a rotating hydraulic seal (4) and the system can be retrofitted to existing aircraft. USE/ADVANTAGE - Low cost pitch control for propeller of motorised glider is simple to operate.
