Method of coaxially welding a two part (11,10) rod section to an intermediate sheet section (12), esp. a two part piston rod to a cylinder cap of an hydraulic and/or pneumatic spring element involves using the two parts of the rod section directly as electrodes. USE/ADVANTAGE - In shock absorbers of vehicles. The working costs are reduced as one single operation replaces the prior art operations of mounting, locking in position, welding, releasing and removal.
