Compacting reams of paper - using pair of vertical walls laterally positioned to beam lifting device and displaceable to rear fixed vertical wall

The equipment involves a pair of vertical parallel slider components (1) which by corresp. means (2) are movable horizontally in both directions, conducting a ream of paper (4) on a surface (3) from a sorting station (5) to a lifting system (6). The lifting system has at least one horizontal surface or a lifter, and is movable vertically to an upper packing station. The lifting system (6) has means for holding the ream, arranged at least on the transport surface (3), and contg. at least one rear fixed vertical wall (11). The holding means consists of at least one pair of opposing vertical elements (9, 10) which are arranged laterally to the lifting system (6) and to the rear fixed vertical wall (11). The vertical elements are activated by a drive and in time with the slider components (1) so that they approach one another, thus compacting the edges of the ream of paper (4).
