PURPOSE:To obtain the subject hydrophilizing agent capable of exhibiting permanent spot-absorptivity without deteriorating the original hydrophobic nature of polyolefin fiber by applying a specific hydrophilic compound to the surface of a polyolefin fiber. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent is produced by compounding 100 pts.wt. of a hydrophilic compound expressed by formula [A is 2 to 6-valent polyhydric alcohol residue; R'' is ethylene or propylene; (R''O)n is a polyalkylene oxide containing 10-15mol of propylene oxide and 1-50mol of ethylene oxide in the form of block or at random; x is 1-5; y is 1-5; x+y is 2-6; R is 10-24C fatty acid residue] with 0-5 pts.wt. of a phenolic antioxidant. A polyolefin fiber exhibiting durable spotabsorptivity and having excellent heat-resistance and ultraviolet resistance can be produced by applying the above agent to the surface of a polyolefin fiber used as a material for sanitary napkin, paper diaper, etc. |
