An electron converter for the irradiation of sensitive samples consists of a target for rays due to retarding of particles and a moderator consisting of a thin walled aluminium or graphite container filled with chemical cpds. contg. elements which form radio nuclides under the conditions in which the electron converter is used. USE/ADVANTAGE - The electron converter can be used in the irradiation of sensitive samples such as biological material, organic substances, cryotargets. Highly accelerated electrons are converted into retarded particles and non converted electrons are completely stopped.The whole spectrum of rays due to retarded particles is effectively utilised.
