Porous clay ceramic is produced by finely grinding clay and then mixing with water to form a chip. A water-binding agent is then added to produce a formable paste which is then fired. The pasty mass is dried prior to firing and may be either formed into a plastic object or mechanically broken up into smaller pieces prior to drying. USE/ADVANTAGE - Producing objects such as filter bricks, plant pots, insulation plates, filter plates, etc.. A highly porous prod. is obtd. which maintains its shape and dimensional stability
