A single rod micromeasurement chain has electrically isolated carbon fibres (1) arranged about and on the surface of a metal body (3). Both the ends and parts of the lateral surfaces of the fibres operate as working electrodes and the metal surfaces as counter electrodes. The fibres and the metal body are separately electrically contacted. The metal body is pref. made of a rare metal or a metallic material used for surgical instruments. USE/ADVANTAGE - For in vivo pharmological measurements. Carbon fibre microelectrodes and counter electrodes are combined into single unit with improved characteristics.
