PURPOSE:To reduce noise by a method wherein the opening degree of a damper for regulating the amount of cooling air is detected and when the opening degree has become a predetermined value, the output of a fan is controlled so as to be choked to a predetermined output smaller than a rated output, in an electric refrigerator equipped with a fan for sending the cooling air into a cooling and reserving chamber. CONSTITUTION:A freezing refrigerator is provided with a cooling and cold storage chamber 52, for cooling and reserving materials to be cooled such as foods and the like, and a fan 4, for sending air cooled by an evaporator 53 into the cooling and reserving chamber 52 through a duct 54. A thermistor 3 and an electric damper 5 are provided near the outlet port of cooling air of the duct 54. The electric damper 5 is controlled based on the output of the thermistor 3. When the detecting temperature of the thermistor 3 is decided in a stage S1 that it has reduced to a value lower than a predetermined value because of a small cooling load or the like, the supplying voltage for the fan 4 is switched from a rate voltage to a lower predetermined voltage in a stage S3 whereby the output of torque of the fan 4 is choked. According to this method, noise, such as the hissing sound and the like of the fan 4, can be reduced. |
