Motor vehicle axle geometry testing method - using roller supports to drive wheels with rear wheels in fixed alignment and measurement of freely adopted front wheel positions

In the method the wheels (11, 12) are driven externally on supports (13, 18) with the rear wheels aligned with a defined transverse axis. The front wheels are allowed to adopt a free position. The adopted wheel linear and angular positions are measured and used to evaluate the axle geometry. The supports contain driven rollers and floating plates. USE/ADVANTAGE - For qualitative and quantitative measurement of inclination, i.e. faulty positioning, of rear axle of four-wheel vehicle, using equipment based on conventional techniques.
