The e.m. seating (12, 28) is divided into two angled profiles (12, 28) providing the two contact surfaces for closing the opening of the housing: one (12) being provided on the housing (1) and the other (28) on the door (3) or cover. When the latter is closed the profiles overlap. The housing profile can be cable shaped and that of the door open shanked. An insert of elastic profiled material, pref. an elastomer, with inlaid metallic webbing is provided at the engaging surfaces of the sealing profiles. The door profiled sealing extends all round the outer door panel or cover shell (17) and is held there by a sprung retainer (16).
