Encodable plug and socket connector - prevents two parts fitting together unless their corresp. coding elements match

An encodable connector comprises fixed (1) and movable (3) plug parts connectable together and encoding elements (7). Each plug part has a number of recesses (8) corresp. to the number of encoding elements (7). All the recesses are always occupied by the latter, which can be put in two different precise positions: the encoding position and the nuetral position. In the neutral position the elements (7) of one part (1,3) do not overlap with those of the other part when the two parts are joined. In the encoding position the elements of the two parts overlap. Therefore, when at least two associated elements (7) are in the encoding position, it is not possible to fit the two parts together. ADVANTAGE - Construction simplified and coding made easier.
