The two coupling flanges (1, 2) have corresponding holes to take the threaded fasteners (6). One of the flanges (2) is fitted with the gasket seal (5), with cut-outs to locate around the fastener holes. The other flange (1) has captive nuts (7) which are secured by crimping over the lips (12) to the locating holes from the rear of the flange. The coupling is secured simply by offering up the two flanges and inserting a threaded fastener. An automatic tool applies a programmed torque. The locating holes can have tapering entries and the screws have tapering ends (11) for automatic location. USE/ADVANTAGE - Suitable for automatic assembly, secure fastening.
