The fuel-supply unit comprises an electrically-driven fuel pump in an automotive fuel tank, suspended on pressure and return pipes fixed to the tank cover and on which it slides. A distance-piece holds it clear of the bottom. The return pipe (3) is in two parts (4,6), telescoping together and thrust apart by a compression spring (5) holding the lower part against the bottom (7). The pump (8) is secured to the lower part (6) via a sound-dampening (13) or spring component. It is connected to the pressure pipe (2) via a further sound-dampening component (11) and the double telescopic joint (9).
