The pressure shock damper is for riser pipes attached to a submerged pump pumping water from a bore hole. The pump (2) has a flowback preventer (4) and the section of the riser pipe (3) immediately above it is surrounded by an air chamber (8) the dimensions of which closely match those of the well. ADVANTAGE - Damping system which can be used in a well (1) with a very narrow bore diameter.
