PROTECTION FOR DEVICE

PURPOSE: To protect an integrated circuit from both corrosion and electrostatic discharge by using a packaging material which is a special polymer material for handling, shipping, and storage. CONSTITUTION: An integral circuit device is arranged together with a protection means restricting electrostatic discharge from or to the device. This is a method as well to protect the device therefrom. The protection means is made of a polymer film in which particles such as carbon black or a metallic material combined with carbon black are embedded.
