PURPOSE:To perform the flaw detection of the entire cross section of a round material without replacing a probe in the ultrasonic flaw detection of the round material and to eliminate the necessity of the replacement of shoes accompanied by the size change of the round material. CONSTITUTION:A flaw detection apparatus 10 is equipped with a support 11, the saddle-shaped shoes 12, 12 brought into contact with the outer surface of a round material 1 and integrated with both end parts of the support 11, the vertical sensor 13, right oblique angle probe 14 and left oblique angle probe 15 held to the support 11 along the longitudinal direction of the round material and energized by a spring 17 so that leading end thereof comes into contact with the outer surface of the round material 1 using the support 11 as a seat and water supply nozzles 16A supplying water for a transmission medium to the regions between the respective probles 13, 14, 15 held to the support 11 and the outer surface of the round material 1. |
