The work-table, especially writing-desk, consists of a table-top (17), the back edge (18) of which pivots on a horizontal axis on a frame (14'). The table-top is held in its pivot position. At least one stop-strip (22) parallel to the table-top (17) is positioned near the back edge (18) and can be pulled in and out. The stop-strip (22) has a contact surface (36) resting on at least one pin fixed to the frame. The contact surface (36) is positioned in a hole. The pin is fixed to a transverse axle (16) in the form of a round tube or bar. USE/ADVANTAGE - The desk work-top has a stop-strip which does not protrude from the surface.
