Cable insertion system for rubber cable sleeve - uses pressurised fluid to form fluid film around outside of inserted cable

The insertion system is used to insert a cable (12) in a rubber cable sleeve (10) using simultaneous injection of a pressurised fluid into the space between the cable (12) and the sleeve (10). The cable (12) is received by a bore (16) in a guide block (14) aligned with the entry (18) of the cable sleeve (10) and having a radial pressurised fluid channel (20) leading to the bore (16). The pressurised fluid forms a fluid film between the outside of the cable (12) and the inside face of the bore (16) and the entry (18) of the cable sleeve (10), facilitating smooth cable insertion.
