A tape cassette includes a first rib (25) projecting upwardly from a bottom wall (23) of a cassette case (2) at a position between a middle and one side of a tape drawing recess (7) formed on a front surface of the cassette case (2), the first rib (25) being disposed close to the rear surface of the tape (13) in the cassette. A second rib (30) projects from a back lid (17) so that, when the back lid (17) is rotated to reach an open position, the second rib (30) is kept in contact or proximity to an upper end of the first rib (25). When the back lid (17) is in the open position, the second rib (30) is disposed in contact or proximity to the upper end of the first rib (25), thereby avoiding any gap between the first rib (25) and the second rib (30). Accordingly, even when a part of the tape (13) is lifted by the back lid (17) in a lid opening operation, there is no possibility of the tape (13) passing to the rear side of the first rib (25), thereby preventing risk of tape jamming and damage to a tape player. <IMAGE> |
