PURPOSE:To obtain a fiber for optical amplifier capable of amplifying a signal light of 1.5mum band in high efficiency. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber is an oxide-based glass fiber partially doped with Er<3-> as an active substance stepwise from the center of a core part 1 of an optical fiber for the amplification of light of 1.5mum wavelength and satisfying the following formulas: lambdac=-0.15x+0.99mum (0.2<=x<=0.4) (1) =-0.20x+1.01mum (0.4<=x<=0.6) (2) =-0.275x+1.055mum (0-.6<=x<=0.8) (3) =-0.175x+0.975mum (0.8<=x<=1.0) (4) + or -0.1mum, wherein a is core radius, a0 is Er<3-> dope radius, x is a0/a and lambdac is cut-off wavelength of the fiber. |
