PURPOSE:Remove bubbles, ink-drops, etc. adhering due to surface tension, viscosity, etc. and recover ink to an ink tank smoothly by a method wherein an elastic tube is connected to a lower section of an outlet of a gutter and vibrated. CONSTITUTION:In an ink recovery device for a charge controlling type ink jet printer, an elastic thin tube 20 is connected to a lower section of a recovery port of a gutter 7, an electrostictive vibrator 21 is mounted around the tube, and voltage is applied to the vibrator 21 to increase and decrease a diameter of the elastic tube 20 and vibrate it. Thus, bubbles, ink-drops 18, etc. are removed which adhere on the inner surfaces of the recovery port and the elastic tube 20 due to the surface tension, viscosity, etc., and dropped and recovered. Consequently, ink collected by means of the gutter 7 can be recovered smoothly to an ink tank by means of a simple device. |
