PURPOSE:To obtain an ink excellent in printability, reliability, and delivery properties by compounding a colorant, a water-sol. solvent, and acetylene alcohol and specifying the viscosity of the nonvolatile residue of the ink. CONSTITUTION:An ink which contains a colorant, water, a water-sol. solvent, and acetylene alcohol or a deriv. thereof and of which the nonvolatile residue obtd. by eliminating volatile components has a viscosity of 2-1200cP at 25 deg.C. Acetylene alcohol or a deriv. thereof spontaneously emulsifies and disperses a dye separating out in the ink, preventing thickening or adhering of the ink, thus keeping the thickening of the ink from which water has evaporated, such as the ink near an orifice, relatively low, and favorably affecting the initial delivery properties. Examples of the solvent are dimethylformamide, acetone, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, and polyethylene glycol. |
