PURPOSE:To prevent the rupture of the title refractory to be installed during its drying process by providing it with vent hole without degrading its mechanical strength and durability. CONSTITUTION:The objective castable refractory where 0.1-2wt.% of chopped pieces of a dried vegetable fibrous material has been incorporated in a refractory material. For the installation of the present refractory, 0.1-2wt.%, on a dry basis, of said chopped pieces of a dried or water-absorbed vegetable fibrous material is added to the refractory material followed by addition of water and then kneading the mixture; the product is then installed. |
