PURPOSE: To provide a monitoring device to be used for an internal combustion engine or automobile capable of forming a warning signal in accordance with the magnitude of a driving signal when a failure is caused in the region of output stage. CONSTITUTION: This load monitoring device is made up of an output stage 10 for driving a load 11 which is constituted by a bridge circuit consisting of at least two power supply switches 12 to 18 and is arranged on the diagonal line of the bridge by a driving signal, a monitoring device 54 for monitoring the function of the output stage 10 or the load 11, and comparison means 56a, 56b for monitoring a prescribed electric potential in the output stage 10 or load region and for detecting a failure condition. The monitoring device 54 is provided with a processing unit 58 for producing a warning signal in accordance with the magnitude of the driving signal in a failure condition. |
