PURPOSE:To obtain a tilted type fermenter, arranged in a tilted form and capable of improving fluidity of immobilized microbial cells and efficiently carrying out solid-liquid separation of the immobilized microbial cells and a reaction solution without any problems in manufacture and sanitation. CONSTITUTION:A fermenter 1 is arranged in a tilted form. Thereby, when beady immobilized microbial cells in the fermenter are fluidized by blowing, etc., of a gas from the bottom, the flow of a reaction solution forms a swirling stream and the immobilized microbial cells incorporated in the flow of the reaction solution can efficiently be separated from the reaction solution. Furthermore, the upper part of the fermenter 1 is preferably equipped with a solid-liquid separating part such as a baffle plate 3.
