摘要 PURPOSE:To accurately control the deflection amount of charged ink particles and perform accurate printing by detecting the deflection position of charged ink particles and regulating the charging voltage level and the ink pressure according to said deflection position. CONSTITUTION:Pressurized ink is fed to an ink-jet nozzle 14, and the jetted ink is vibrated to regularly separate into ink particles. At the time when the separation occurs, a charging electrode 20am exerts a charging field in order to produce charged ink particles, which are deflected by the deflecting electric field formed by deflecting electrode plates 60am1 and 60am2 to perform printing. In this case, the deflection position of the charged ink particles is detected by deflection position detecting electrodes 80a, 80b and 80c, and the level of the charging voltage from a charging voltage generator 200 is regulated according to the detected deflection position. Moreover, when the charging voltage level is out of the setting range, the ink pressure applied by an electrostrictive vibrator 12a is altered by a piezoelectric vibrator 12a, so that the deflection of the ink particles is accurately regulated.
