[Also in Division G3] A multi-way valve with pressure and exhaust conduits 22 and a conduit 34 connected to the apparatus to be controlled has a casing 11 with two bores 10 and an intermediate bore 33 all of which open into an aperture 35. Each conduit 22 is secured to an insert by a clip 24 and sealed by packings 27, 28 whilst a filter 29 is disposed adjacent the end of the conduit and retained by a screw threaded into the insert and acting as an adjustable abutment for a spring 19 loading a conical single-beat closure 16 against its seat; the closure 16 has an axially-grooved pin 14 extending through the end of the insert into the aperture 35. The bores 10 are arranged at an angle of 60 degrees. The conduit 34 is secured and sealed in a similar manner to conduits 22 and leads to aperture 35 through an adjustable throttle 41, 45. The aperture 35 houses a cam shaft 36, that coacts selectively with pins 14 and is actuated by an adjustable spring-urged manuallever ; the throttle needle 41 passes through the cam shaft. A number of such multi-way valves may be bolted or banded together into a bank and ports 31 in the inserts are joined by tubes clamped therebetween; intermediate elastomeric pieces may be provided. In a modification, the adjustable throttle needle 41 is dispensed with, the single orifice being replaced by a pair of openings in a conical member which is screwed away from or near to the narrower part of the bore 33. |
