PURPOSE: To provide an electrochemical enzyme sensor constituted so that enzyme is not affected by a measuring electrode (sensor electrode) and having good long-time stability. CONSTITUTION: The electrochemical enzyme sensor having good longtime stability for measuring a substance, especially, glucose in a body fluid is constituted of a sensor electrode composed of electrocatalytically inactive carbon, an opposed electrode, an auxiliary electrode, the enzyme-containing layer present in front of the sensor electrode and a membrane composed of a hydrophilic oxygen passing substance protecting the enzyme layer from a body fluid and retaining enzyme and having living body affinity. |
