PURPOSE: To provide a mobile telephone system to be used by an outdoor subscriber in an automobile and to give high-level speech transmission of relatively less interference in traffic capacity to even a subscriber in a building like an office building. CONSTITUTION: In a first partial system 7 for telephone traffic of automobile telephone, transmission between mobile stations MS and MSI and base stations BSI and BSI is performed by radio; and in a second partial system 6 for office building, it is performed by light at least in an area nearest to the mobile station MSI. Transmission by light is performed also in an area including electronic devices sensitive to radio interference, for example, in a hospital and/or in an area where strong radio interference which can cause interference in mobile telephone transmission by radio is brought about. Mobile stations can be switched to transmission by radio and transmission by light, and thus, these stations can be used in both partial systems 7 and 6. |
