PURPOSE: To transfer an inked print image from a plate cylinder while preventing loss due to torsional vibration generated upon collision against a doctor roll by reciprocating the doctor roll at a relatively high speed between first and second positions. CONSTITUTION: A doctor roll 22 is located at a first position in order to receive a specified quantity of ink and then moved to a second position where the doctor roll touches a mixing roll 24 to return back to the first position. Wen he doctor roll is reciprocated at a speed in the range of 1/4-2 doctor cycle per revolution of a plate cylinder 14, an ink feed mechanism 10 is brought into stabilized state based on high speed reciprocal motion of the doctor roll 22. Torsional vibration of relatively constant level is loaded to a gear transmission between the mixing roll 24 and the plate cylinder 14 which transfers an inked print image uniformly to a blanket cylinder 16. |
