PURPOSE: To reduce an exposure to heat from a fixing unit to a belt, to preserve the electric property of the belt and to obtain a uniform image by providing a bow thermal shield in parallel with the outside surface of a fixing unit roller, between the photoreceptive belt and the fixing unit roller. CONSTITUTION: The bow thermal shield 22 is provided between the curved part extended on a supporting roller 12, of the photoreceptive belt 10 for forming an electrostatically recorded image and the thermal fixing unit roller 14 arranged in proximity to the curved part. In the thermal shield 22, a heat reflective metallic surface 24 is concentric and parallel with the outside surface 25 of the fixing unit roller 14 and mirror finishing is attained. It is preferable that the thermal shield 22 is a composite shield constituted in such a manner that for instance, a polyester sulfone substrate has the vacuum evaporation of a titanic thin film. |
