CONTINUOUS IN-LINE PREPARATION METHOD OF GELATIN SOLUTION FOR PHOTOGRAPH

PURPOSE: To obtain a photographically utilized gelatin soln. with no problem on dissolution by rapidly heating a gelatin-aq. soln. mixture and holding the resultant digested gelatin at a certain temp. for a certain period of time. CONSTITUTION: Gelatin particles are mixed with an aq. soln. and wetted to form a gelatin-aq. soln. mixture and this mixture is rapidly heated to a temp. at which the gelatin can be digested. The resultant digested gelatin is held for a sufficiently long period of time to dissolve the gelatin particles in the aq. soln. Unlike the conventional batch method this method enables more uniform heat transfer to gelatin and more uniform dissolution of gelatin without generating high level bubbles.
