PURPOSE: To obtain an electric separating apparatus the preparative isolation scale of which can be set in accordance with the amount of a solution to be processed, by providing a narrow and long separating chamber demarcated in a flat spacer including an internal heat exchange means constituting two parallel side walls of each separating chamber. CONSTITUTION: Each of sub compartments 12 of a flat body having a narrow channel 16 formed inside is arranged adjacent to each other on a plane. A film 17 is inserted between the compartment 12, and adjacent channels 16 are separated to individual separation chambers for processing of samples. A sample solution is supplied to each channel and a separated solution is discharged by a multi channel pump 60 via a sample inlet port 11 and a collection port 13 formed at each end part of the channel. An electric field supplied by electrodes 30, 32 at either end part of an array passes in a vertical direction to the plane of the compartments 12 and films 17, with feeding an electrolyte. An electrolyzed gas is removed owing to this continuous recalculation. A heat exchanger 14 constituting side walls of the channel 16 recinculates a coolant fed by a pump 50 to radiate Joule's heat generated from the supplied electric field. |
