PURPOSE: To secure display of a picture sequence by adding a header to each video block and referring to a prescribed video block to discriminate another video block. CONSTITUTION: A display device has a reader 1, and information on a disk 2 is read by the reader and is converted to a data flow (b). At this time, a header is added to each video block and is provided with reference information for reference to a prescribed video block. Then, the display device reads a video block including the added header and separates the header from actual picture information and stores it in an assigned memory position. Different video blocks are discriminated, and a central processor unit 5 discriminate plural pictures by their codes. Word synchronism is realized, and display of the picture sequence of a prescribed picture frequency is secured at the time of normal use.
