PURPOSE: To provide a dye receiving element having a backing layer to control a friction between adjacent receiving elements in a supply stack to prevent simultaneous supply of the receiving elements by minimizing a synergistic action between front and rear surfaces of the receiving element, minimizing a sticking to the dye donor element, giving a sufficient friction to a thermal printer rubber pick roller to remove the one receiving element from the supply stack. CONSTITUTION: The dye-receiving element for the thermal dye transfer comprises a support having on one side thereof a polymeric dye image-receiving layer and on the other side thereof a backing layer made from a mixture of polyethylene oxide, submicron colloidal inorganic particles, and polymeric particles of a size larger than the inorganic particles. |
