PURPOSE: To provide an internal junction electroluminescent device to carry a magnesium cathode having improved performance efficiency. CONSTITUTION: An internal junction electroluminescent device is provided forming an anode, an organic hole injection and transportation zone, an organic electron injection and transportation zone, and a cathode in this order. A junction is formed between the organic hole injection and transportation zone, and the organic electron injection and transportation zone. The cathode contains magnesium and aluminum and includes a layer contacted with the organic electron injection and transportation zone. In this case, aluminum occupies at least 80% of the cathode layer. |
